Seann William Scott was born October 3, 1976, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. He was working at Home Depot with only a few TV credits and an Aerosmith video to his name when he auditioned for American Pie. He won the part of the outlandish womanizer Steve Stifler, and ever since the film’s breakout success, audiences can’t get enough of Seann William Scott or Stifler. After the first Pie, he quickly followed up with other Stifler-ish roles in Road Trip (2000) and Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000), and even added some much-needed humor to Final Destination (2000), even though he lost his head.
Seann William Scott in the dukes of hazzard
Seann William Scott returned as Stifler twice more for the American Pie sequels in 2001 and 2003, and matched fisticuffs with Chow-Yun Fat in Bulletproof Monk (2003) and The Rock in The Rundown (2003). A devout fan of The Dukes of Hazzard, Seann William Scott jumped at the chance to play Bo Duke in the 2005 movie and specifically requested Johnny Knoxville as his costar. Dukes proved to be his biggest hit outside of the American Pie franchise.
As he entered his next career phase, Seann William Scott’s roles were still funny, but more layered. In 2007′s Mr. Woodcock, he plays a self-help author who seeks revenge on his abusive former gym teacher. Even with all of this, would you believe that Seann William Scott doesn’t think comedy is his strong suit? He says, “I don’t really necessarily think I’m a funny guy, but I like the opportunity to take on something that I don’t feel I’m the best at doing.”
