Danielle Harris’s fast foray into show business all but assured the future beauty that her childhood would be everything except normal. A fan of classic TV like The Honeymooners and young movie stars like Brooke Shields, Danielle Harris won a beauty pageant during her elementary school years that sent her family of one sister and their mother to New York for a series of television commercials.

Though she remained an academically solid student during this time period, Danielle Harris’ main focus was her blossoming acting career, which became a reality when she was cast in a role on the television soap opera, One Life to Live in 1985. Faced with the bizarre task of playing a girl who was initially an embryo transplanted from her deceased mom, the young actress stayed on the show for three years and coaxed just the right amount of tearjerking and sympathy from her intended audience. In 1987, she switched gears by taking a guest-starring role on the well-respected 1980s TV series Spenser: For Hire.

Danielle Harris stars in halloween 4 and 5 and on roseanne

After originating on television, Danielle Harris auditioned for the role of Jamie Lloyd, daughter of Laurie Strode, in the fourth film of the Halloween series. The audition process was narrowed down to two finalists: Danielle Harris and future Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart, but Danielle Harris won because she was more adept at the two horror staples of screaming and crying. As Jamie Lloyd, Danielle Harris became a fan favorite and returned for the fifth installment of the series, Halloween 5 in 1989, but was recast for Halloween 6 following disagreements over the direction of the character and her contract.

Danielle Harris went on to play Steven Seagal’s niece in Marked for Death (1990), as well as Christina Applegate’s younger sister in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991) before returning to TV in 1992 to play Molly, the neighbor and friend to Sara Gilbert on the hit series Roseanne. Danielle Harris’s performance on the show led to a Young Artist nomination in 1993 for Best Young Actress Recurring in a Television Series and translated into more work on films like 1993′s sleeper hit Free Willy and the 1996 Sylvester Stallone film Daylight.

She later returned to the horror genre as the goth roommate of Alicia Witt in 1998′s Urban Legend and lend her voice to the long-running animated series The Wild Thornberrys. Danielle Harris would especially come to enjoy doing voice-over work because it allowed her to connect with a family audience that was unable to see her horror films.

Danielle Harris stars in that’s life and rob zombie’s halloween and halloween 2

Very appreciative of the career benefits of working on a television series (i.e., earning a regular paycheck), Danielle Harris joined the cast of the sitcom That’s Life in 2000. Originally a background character and pal to series lead Heather Paige Kent, Danielle Harris’s character of Plum came to the forefront when she began an on-screen romance with costar Kevin Dillon. After the series was canceled two years later, Danielle Harris worked mostly in voice-over work with her most notable project being the 2004 Siegfried and Roy animated series, Father of the Pride.

In 2005, Danielle Harris made an unexpected return to the film series that made her famous — with a few twists. After wowing director Rob Zombie in an audition, Danielle Harris won the role of Annie Brackett in his 2007 remake of Halloween. It was most surprising, considering that the director had no intention of casting any actors from the original series into his new version. Fans accepted her in the new role and the film was a hit with Danielle Harris returning in 2009 for a role in the sequel. In addition, Danielle Harris also starred in the 2009 thrillers Blood Night and Cyrus while also nabbing a regular role on the web series Fear Clinic, alongside the original Freddy Krueger (Robert England) and the former Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder). Lastly, she put the wheels in motion to write her first book and launch her own horror-themed website, HorrorGal.com.
